Convention date, June 24, 1932. [Class 102 (i).] A portable apparatus for making and spraying fire-extinguishing foam comprises a container a for a solution, e.g. saponin, and a pump b. When the piston g is raised, solution is drawn into the pump cylinder through a valve c and air through an adjustable cock f and valve d. On the down stroke. of the piston, the mixed air and solution are forced through a mixing chamber i to the pipe k. The chamber i is packed with perforated plates, wire grids &c. By closing the cock f, solution alone may be sprayed.
