Class- 47 [Also in Group XXVIII] The closure disc 4 -or a conical stopper (not shown) of a compressed gas containersuitable for use as a fire extinguisher is ruptured or displaced as the case may be by a punch 14 slidably mounted in a housing 7 screwed to the union 2 and is actuated by a manually operable lever 17 interposed between the head of the punch 14 and a pisfon 22 actuatable directly by pneumatic fluid whereby release of gas may be effected by manual operation of the lever 17 or by the pneumatically operated piston 22 at will. Working fluid is supplied from an auxiliary gas reservoir to the piston 22 through a duct 25 and a plurality of gas cylinders in parallel may be so supplied through a manifold having an automatically actuated control valve.
