D.; Yong Tong Tea Estate, Matelli P.O., Dooars, North Bengal, India) Jan. 15, 1934, No. 1473. [Class 6 (ii)] [See also Group XXVIII] A spraying-apparatus comprises a rigid container with flexible means for containing the liquid to be sprayed and also compressed gas for discharging the liquid, the apparatus being charged through a valve - controlled inlet, and the liquid then discharged through a valve-controlled outlet, means being provided to prevent the gas escaping when the liquid is discharged. The Figure shows a knapsack sprayer comprising a metal casing A containing a flexible casing B into which air and liquid may be forced through a passage J controlled by a valve J<2>, a float valve E<2> allowing liquid to enter the casing B. On opening a cock liquid is discharged through the passage H until the float-valve E<2> rests on its seating thus preventing escape of air. In modifications the apparatus comprises an outer rigid casing and two inner flexible bags either of which may be filled with liquid while the other is filled with compressed air through a non-return valve.
