Abstract

794,125. Fuel containers. FIREPROOF TANKS, Ltd. Aug. 29, 1956 [June 20, 1955], No. 17791/55. Class 69 (1). [Also in Group XXVIII] A container for liquid fuel, particularly adapted for use as an aircraft fuel tank, comprises a bag 1 of flexible material attached to the mouth of a rigid socket 6 which encloses half of the bag 1 when the latter is full, as shown, the socket having an inlet 7 for air or compressed gas and a vent 8, and the bag having a fuel inlet 2 and outlet 3. A vent 4 may also be provided for the bag 1, and apertured guards 5 and 9 prevent the bag 1 closing the fuel outlet 3 and air inlet 7 respectively.
