Abstract

[Class 8 (i)] [Also in Group XXI] A combined fire-extinguisher and escape comprises a sectional pole having at one end a nozzle, connected to a gas generator and a pump for discharging carbon-dioxide through a window of a burning building. The pump, Fig. 5, comprises chambers 17 and 18 connected respectively to an extinguishing-gas generator by a pipe 36 and to a hose 4, and a pair of bellows 20, 21 operated by a lever 24. If gas is generated at high pressure, it can pass to the hose without operation of the bellows.
