Abstract

195,967. Krauss, F. E., and GraafF, W. April 5, 1922, [Convention date]. Portable pressure reservoirs. -Portable fire-extinguishers wherein a column of liquid is constantly under gas pressure are provided with a bell d dipping into the liquid and containing the gas under pressure which forces the liquid into the annular space f; the construction thus serves to indicate leaks above the level of the liquid by forcing liquid outside the extinguisher througgh the leak. A tube d<1> is provided to eliminate leakage in the bell during the manufacture of the extinguisher. The outlet pipe passes through the bell to the valve head at the top of the apparatus, both the liquid and the compressed gas being supplied through this head.
