Abstract

484,460. Resilient mountings. METALASTIK, Ltd. Nov. 26, 1937, No. 32614. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1936. [Class 108 (iii)] In a mounting comprising parallel and coaxial discs embedded in rubber, some of the discs being connected with the supporting part and the others to the supported part, the discs projecting inwardly are spaced apart by rings having prong-like extensions, the prongs of each ring passing through notches in one of the discs and engaging between the prongs of the other, the end surfaces of the prongs of each ring pressing one of the discs immovably against the root of the prongs of the other spacing ring when the whole is axially clamped together. As shown in Fig. 1 discs 1, 2 are adhesively embedded in a rubber block 3, the discs 1 projecting outwardly and the discs 2 inwardly of the rubber. The discs 1 are spaced by rings 4 and are adapted to be secured in the frame of an aircraft &c., the inwardly projecting parts of the discs 2 are notched, the notches on one disc being staggered relatively to those on the other. The discs 2 are spaced apart and are keyed to a twopart bush or ring 5 each part being formed with prongs 6, Fig. 3. The prongs 6 of each bush are passed through the notches of their respective discs 2 and between each other, the space between the notches of one disc being held in the root of the prongs 6 on the one bush by the ends of the prongs on the other bush. The twopart bush is mounted on a sleeve 9 through which a tapered bolt is passed, the nut of which bears on a washer 8 to hold the parts of the bush 5 together.
