[Class 52 (iv)] Upholstery springs are mounted on plates 2 interconnected by tension springs 3 and connected at one or both ends of the assembly to the surrounding frame by additional tension springs 7. The plates may be interconnected by transverse spacing strips 10, 11 and the tension springs are stretched when mounted so as to exert resistance to initial depression of the assembly when in use.
