Abstract
467,164. Resilient mountings. GALLONI, G., and POGGI, C. Nov. 5, 1935, - No. 30612. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1934. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] In a vehicle wheel in which radial movements of the rim are cushioned by transverse, axially mounted springs through the action of ball-andcup devices, volute springs 8 are mounted within hollow cylinders 6, slidably mounted in hollow axle elements 10, and whose inner ends provide one of the opposed conical seatings 5 for each of the ball-and-cup devices. The force exerted by the springs may be varied by supplying fluid under pressure to pistons 33 mounted on rods 34 in engagement with the outer ends of the springs.
