Abstract

831,733. Resilient mountings. METALASTIK Ltd. May 20, 1958 [July 3, 1957], No. 21111/57. Class 108(3) When a small axial compressive force is applied to a frusto-conical rubber spring 5, the spring behaves as a fairly stiff strut. If the force is increased, an end 6 buckles and collapses inside the spring offering relatively little resistance. Members 8, 10 of metal are bonded to the rubber. The spring 5 may alternatively comprise a series of spaced legs arranged in conic outline. A pair of springs 5 may be mounted together with either their small or large ends abutting, or with the small end of one abutting the large end of the other.
