483,266. Motor vehicles. ZAVODY TATRA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST PRO STAVBU AUTOMOBILU A ZELEZNICNICH VOZU. Aug. 4, 1937, No. 21543. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1936. Addition to 478,867. [Classes 79 (iii) and 79 (iv)] The upwardly inclined chassis tube or frame 6 described in the parent Specification carries at its forward end a housing 1 supported on the front axle and enclosing a radial cylinder engine 8. The clutch and change speed gear may be located in a reduced rear part 4 of the housing. Adjacent to the housing, a casing 5 may enclose bevel or other gearing through which the drive may be transmitted to front and rear axles, the front wheel drive being conveyed by a shaft enclosed in a tubular support 7 connected to the axle casing 2 which in turn is connected to the housing 1. Where the rear wheels only are driven, the parts 5 and 7 are omitted and the axle casing 2 is replaced by connections between the housing 1 and the undriven axle parts. The driver's seat 3 in front of the housing 1 may be foldable or removable to allow access to the engine, the front cover 10 of the housing being detachable.
