490,639. Motor - vehicle axles and driving-gearing. ZAVODY RINGHOFFERTATRA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST. Nov. 10, 1937, No. 30889. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1936. [Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iv)] In a vehicle with swinging half-axles 2 in which gearing is arranged in the vicinity of the plane of the wheel for driving the wheel from its axle shaft 3, the said gearing consists of bevel wheels 4, 5 which are used for effecting either a lowered position of the chassis as in Fig. 1, or a raised position as in Fig. 2. The half-axles may swing about a central chassis tube 1 as shown. The bevel gears are enclosed in casings 7 secured to the half-axles.
