[Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A thermionic cathode is made of a sheet of metal, preferably tungsten, having a thickness of À001 mm. or less, preferably kept taut by mounting on resilient leads. Such a tungsten sheet may be made by rolling a thin plate of tungsten between plates of molybdenum, which are renewed several times during the rolling.
