[Class 83 (ii)] [See also Group XXXVI] An anode for use in electrolytic baths comprises a grid-like plate consisting of integrallyformed, uniformlydistributed narrow webs of uniform cross-section. The anode shown is made with sharp edges c<3> by the well-known " expansion process," whereby by reason of the surface exposed by the cuts the total metallic surface of the anode may be increased by at least 50 per cent. The anode may be made by sintering powders or by stamping from a plate.
