Abstract
397,453. Electrolytic treatment of metals. BAULE, M. E. A. and DUCAMP, A. J., 2, Rue de la Martiniere, Chaville, Seine-et-Oise, France. Nov. 18, 1931, No. 31970. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 41.] Metals are provided with a protective coating of an insoluble compound by electrolytic treatment.. Continuous, pulsating, interrupted or alternating current may be used. Aluminium or an alloy thereof may be treated as anode in a bath of sodium silicate, the cathode being of retort carbon, graphite, nickel or German silver. A soluble etching compound such as cyclohexanol may be added to the bath. Treatment may be effected by application of a cathode brush impregnated with electrolyte.
