482,469. Prepayment mechanism for electricity meters. SODECO SOC. DES COMPTEURS DE GENEVE. Dec. 5, 1936, No. 33435. Convention date, Dec. 26, 1935. Addition to 383,343. [Class 27] In the prepayment electricity meter described in the parent Specification, a constant speed motor 52, Fig. 1, sets forward the basic charge mechanism to produce a registration of the accumulated basic charge in proportion with the time. The motor 52, which may be a synchronous motor or an electrically driven timepiece movement, acts through a differential mechanism 51 to drive the units wheel 23 of the counter, showing the amount of basic charge to be paid, in the same direction as it is moved by the manual setting mechanism 30. The motor drives one sun-wheel of the mechanism 51, the mechanism 30, when used, drives the other sun-wheel and the planet-wheel drives the wheel 23. In a modification, Fig. 2, the motor 52 and the manual setting mechanism 30 both act on a wheel 61 carrying a stop 26 which is moved away from a stop lever 24, the motor driving the wheel 61 through a friction coupling 60. The stop lever 24 is carried by a shaft 63 having a wheel 64 meshing with the coin operated wheel 10 which is rigid with the sun-wheel 17 of the epicyclic mechanism 65 that is connected to the basic charge device and to the meter actuated epicyclic mechanism 69 as described in the parent Specification. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a construction in which a stop is moved towards and away from a stop lever by the coin actuated wheel 10 and the motor 52 respectively acting through an epicyclic mechanism. The wheel 10 is, however, always actuated by the operating handle, and the stop lever is connected to the epicyclic mechanism 65 which actuated by the stop lever and by the operating handle through the pair of wheels 7, 9 described in the parent Specification. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
