[Class 27] [Also in Group XXIV] Two variable-ratio gear devices of the type for example described in Specification 490,596, transmitting motion in parallel to a common means and having separate adjusting means 1, 1a for affording a coarse and fine adjustment respectively of the overall gear ratio have a common cyclometer type indicator 4 coupled to the adjusting means of the variableratio gear devices, through a differential 2 for example, which indicates the overall gear ratio. The arrangement is particularly useful for indicating the price-change in prepayment meters in which a fine and coarse adjustment is provided by two variable-ratio gearings in parallel in the drive from the clock motor of a two-part tariff prepayment type electric supply meter. In a modified arrangement in which a single adjusting device may adjust both gear devices through a Geneva mechanism the cyclometer type indicator may be driven direct from this adjusting means.
