Abstract

769,619. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. April 1, 1955 [April 3, 1954], No. 9607/55. Class 106 (1). A multiple tariff counting mechanism for electricity meters comprises one set of indicating dials, each of which is common to two or more pointers, the shafts of which lie one in another. As described, a double tariff counting mechanism comprises a set of dials 19, 24, 28, 30, 31, 32, Fig. 1, over each of which two distinguishable pointers move. Both sets of pointers are driven from a spindle 1, Fig. 2, one from the sun wheel 9 of a differential 9, 7, 8 and the other from the sun-wheel 8. A detent 10 controlled by a solenoid 12 determines which set of pointers is operative at any instant and an indicating flag 50 is connected to the detent and is viewable through an aperture 51, Fig. 1. Continuous gearing transfer mechanism is provided between the several pointers of each set and the gearing is arranged so that each pointer of one set is carried by a sleeve rotatable on the corresponding pointer shaft of the other set.
