The numeral wheel of a counter is made from a piece of sheet metal curved to the form of a cylinder. Tongues 6, Fig. 2, integral with the drum 1 pass through slots 7 in a sheet metal hub 4 and are bent back so as to rigidly join the cylinder and the hub. The hub 4 may be apertured. In another example, Fig. 5, two tongues 13 pass through slots formed in a hub member 12 also integral with the drum. The member 12 has a bearing part 14 which receives the spindle of the drum. In another example, the drum receives a sheet metal hub cemented, soldered, welded or glued thereto and having a spindle receiving bearing.
