Abstract

807,964. Ring and traveller for textile spinning &c. machines. COURTAULDS Ltd. May 21, 1957 [May 22, 1956], No. 15737/56. Class 120(2) In order to retard the traveller in textile ring spinning, the ring is magetized in the direction of its axis and has an annular air gap in which an electricallyconductive non - mag - netic vane on the traveller may project, so that eddy currents are set up in the vane while it travels round the ring. The magnet may be made in one piece or it can be assembly of an annular magnet, Fig. 2, with north and south poles respectively on its upper and lower faces, and upper and lower pole-pieces 2, 3 shaped to provide an air-gap 4 and rims 5, 6 to receive the traveller.
