692,849. Eddy-current brakes. ELECTROMECANIQUE DE L'AVEYRON. Oct. 10, 1950 [Oct. 22, 1949], No. 11810/52. Divided out of 692,807. Class 35. An eddy-current brake with the rotary member disposed between pole-pieces of the stationary member has magnetic projections on the rotor surrounded by closed conducting loops disposed transversely to the rotor axis and arranged so that they are free to expand radially outwards. As shown, rotor magnetic plates 18 extend between stator poles 1 and are surrounded by closed loops 20 of good conducting material, each loop embracing two plates 18.
