808,159. Synchronous motors. SOC. 1NDUSTRIELLE DE SONCEBOZ S.A. Nov. 27, 1956 [Dec. 15, 1955], No. 36202/56. Class 35. A synchronous motor with a shaded pole stator has on the rotor a permanently magnetized ring or rings also one or more rings of non- magnetic conducting material, the rings being supported in non-magnetic material, e.g. aluminium or synthetic resin. The non-magnetic rings could be the end rings of a squirrel cage with the magnet ring abutting one of them or there could be two or three copper rings with the magnet abutting one or secured to one end of the spider or one or two magnets may be disposed between copper rings. As shown, hardened steel rings 15 are interleaved with copper or aluminium rings 10, the magnet 12 being on one end of the spider 8.
