Abstract
696,126. Permanent magnets. VOIGT, P. G. A. H. May 7, 1951 [April 4, 1950], No. 8432/50. Class 35. A loud-speaker magnet structure with an annular air gap 2 has a spacing arrangement for the latter comprising two parts, viz. an outer washer-like member 5 fixed to the outer polepiece 3, and an inner ring 8 placed around the inner pole stem 9, both parts 5, 8 being of non- magnetic material. The polepiece 3 and the spacing member 5 are bored together. The inner spacing member 8 is preferably made of copper and it is placed on a step 11 formed at the foot of the pole stem 1. Instead of one such step, there may be two steps 11a, 11b, Fig. 3. In order to minimize air cushioning inside the air gap, a wedge-shaped space 6 is provided between the curved edge of polepiece 3 and spacer 5. Alternatively or additionally, air vent(s) as holes or slots can be provided in the outer member. Specifications 383,480, [Group XXXIX], and 625,591 are referred to.
