368,149. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS ET GYR SOC. ANON., 1, Hofstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. May 21, 1931, No. 15026. Convention date, June 7, 1930. [Class 106 (i).] The movements of a number of meters are counted by differential gearing the elements of which receive a constant step forward from a relay-controlled motor device when the corresponding meter completes its measuring cycle. In the form shown in the Figure the meter 13 at each revolution completes circuit to a relay which releases a one-cycle motor mechanism 11<1> to advance a wheel 4<1> carrying a planet pinion 3<1>. As shown, there are three such pinions and their carriers together with corresponding mechanisms 11, 11<1>, 1111 and the planet pinions gear with sun wheels 1, 2, &c. of which wheel 1 is fixed and the last 2<11> is secured to the spindle of the total counter 9. In a modification the planet pinion shafts (except the last) are loose on shaft 7 and are rigid with a sun wheel of the next differential, the mechanisms 11 &c. gear with the other sun wheels and the last planet pinion shaft is fixed to the shaft 7. Each differential may directly actuate a counter for registering the readings of the respective meter.
