Electricity, gas, and liquids; delivering by meter; registering.-In a prepayment meter in which two counting trains indicating the total number of coins inserted and the number of coins unused respectively are mounted on a common spindle, the first is driven by a spindle carrying the loosely mounted transfer wheels and the second by a spindle carrying the differential gear. As applied to an electricity meter, the two counting trains 4, 5, 6 and 2, 3 are mounted on a spindle b connected to the coin mechanism and driving through gears 16, 17 a spindle 18 on which are mounted the loose transfer wheels 21, 20 of the two trains, and a fixed gear 19 which drives the unit roll 4 of the train 4, 5, 6, thus indicating the total number of coins inserted. The unit roll 2 of the train 2, 3 is carried by a hub 8 having a wheel 7 driven by a wheel 9 on a spindle 14 on which is mounted the sun and planet differential gear 10, 11, 12, 13. This gear is mounted in a frame 24 and is connected to the measuring element through gearing, including change wheels 22, 23 all of which are mounted outside the frame 24 for easy change. As the commodity is consumed, the rolls 2, 3 set forward by the insertion of coins are returned to zero.
