[Class 27.] In meter prepayment mechanism for use with coins of two denominations, a quantity wheel j is connected to the coin side of differential quantity mechanism by a two-speed gear comprising a shaft n, axially slidable against a spring 3 by a member b pivoted to the coin-holder a so as to engage either of clutch-parts m, o on the spindle with corresponding clutch-parts 2, s according to which coin is inserted. Clutch part 2 is fast with the quantity wheel, whilst clutch part s is driven through gears t, u, v, w journalled on arms w<1> carried by the quantity wheel and co-operating with a fixed rack x.
