Price-changing mechanism.-In prepayment mechanism for a gas meter such as described in Specification 202,186, [Class 54, Gas distribution], which registers in terms of thermal units, a train of gas wheels, one of which can be changed, is provided and so proportioned that each tooth of the change-wheel corresponds to a unit of currency, for example a farthing, in the price per therm, so that if the price be altered the exact number of thermal units can be delivered by the meter. The change-wheel is, preferably, on the worm shaft of the meter.
