404,002. Prepayment mechanism for meters. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES, Ltd., 51, Lincoln's Inn Fields, SMITH, E. W., 186, Kennington Park Road, and CHARLES, A., The Meter Works, Rowan Road, Streatham Vale, all in London. June 28, 1932, No. 18297. [Class 27.] Indicators.-A coinoperated gas or electricity meter or like mechanism is provided with an indicator showing the amount of the commodity for which prepayment has been made and which remains unused, the indicator comprising a flanged disc v secured to a crown wheel u which is driven from the planet wheel carrier b of a differential quantity mechanism. The disc is provided with graduations for use with reference to an arrow set in a window r<1>. The carrier b has a toothed wheel a adapted to drive the crown wheel u through a pinion t. The disc v is formed with a slot v<2> to receive a pin or bolt screw-threaded in the wheel u, whereby the position of the disc may be adjusted. Specifications 387,678 and 392,530 are referred to.
