Abstract
580,967. Electric signalling systems. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. Sept. 21, 1943, No'. 15488. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1942. [Class 40 (i)] In an installation comprising a number of indicators disposed at different points for summoning selected persons, each indicator is provided with two or more pointers 2, 3 which have their driving shafts one within the other and are individually driven by:electric impulses. As shown in Fig. 1, in which the dial bears a single ring of numerals, one of the pointers is longer than the other. The pointers are driven by separate magnets 6 through pawl-andratchet mechanism. A screen may be provided for marking the pointers in their normal position. An inner ring of Roman numerals may be used for marking the position of the shorter pointer. Alternatively, each pointer may move over one half of the dial, which bears a double series of numerals, as in Fig. 4. Instead of numerals, other signs or colours may be employed.
