[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] An epicyclic gear for compounding two rotations comprises a planet 5, the shaft 6 of which makes a precessional movement about a point 10, and carries near the point 10 a pinion 12 in permanent engagement with a driven gear 11. In the form shown, the wheel 5 is directly driven by an annulus 3 from a coin-freed meter 1. The shaft 6 is mounted obliquely in a bush 9 carrying a gear 15 which is constantly rotated in a direction opposite to that of the annulus 3 by a basic charge motor 17. The gear 11 is connected by further gearing, not shown, to the quantity shaft 13. The invention is stated to be applicable to meters for the registration of consumption beyond a certain amount fixed in accordance with a bulk tariff.
