Abstract
477,413. Platen machines; printing on curved surfaces. EDELS, S. June 30, 1936, No. 18115. [Class 100 (ii)] In hand-operated printing-machines of the type wherein a printing-block carrier d is pivoted to a press plate k and in which adjustable eccentrics h act as supporting-members for the pivot axle and may be secured in adjusted position, the press plate together with a transfer plate or pad v secured thereon is adapted to be laid over into the position shown where the pad is parallel to the surface of the printing-block but is higher than all the remaining parts of the machine, to enable transfer printing to be effected on articles of unlimited size ; for example, a bottle u is rolled over the pad. The plate k is fixed to a square shaft l having trunnions m eccentrically mounted in the discs h, which are fixed in adjusted position by screws n. An adjustable abutment rail may be provided on the plate k to form a gauge or guide for the article.
