[Class 100(ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] The journals 3 of an intaglio printing-cylinder 1 are mounted so as to be capable of universal adjustment in bearing rollers 8 arranged in a semi-circle concentric to the journals in a fork-shaped support 7 housed in a bearing body 6 which can be adjusted in directions which are vertical, horizontal, and radial of the impression cylinder 2 respectively. For vertical adjustment the bearing body 6 has a dovetail projection 6a, Fig. 3, slidable under the action of a screw 12 operated by a worm 14 in a block 11 which is itself provided with a dovetail projection movable in a block 15 by a screw 16 for axial adjustment. The block 15 is movable radially of the cylinder 2 by a screw 21 for impression adjustment. To enable the roller 3 to be inclined obliquely the support 7 can pivot about a chamfered surface 6b on the bearing body. The rollers 8 on the driving end of the cylinder are formed with grooves 17 and shoulders 18 of trapezoidal cross-section co-operating with shoulders 19 and grooves 20 of similar form on the journal 3 so as to cause the axial movement of the journal to coincide with that of the rollers 8. In a modification, Fig. 6, the fork 7 is formed with a rear shank 7a lodged in a block 23 which is movable vertically by a screw 12, and the bearing body 6 is operated by a screw for axial adjustment.
