Abstract

1,247,649. Printing apparatus. POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG, BETRIEB DRUCKMASCHINENWERK PLAMAG PLAUEN VEB. 14 July, 1970, No. 34124/70. Heading B6C. An interchangeable cylinder such as the intaglio forme cylinder 1 of a printing machine, removed from the machine along slots in the machine frame 2 after release from its bearings, is held at one or either end in the machine by an externally tapered sleeve 4, axially displaceable in an internally tapered bush 6, which is itself mounted in bearings either in the frame 2 or in a separate housing 15. The housing may itself be axially displaceable relative to the frame 2, e.g. for axial adjustment of registration. The bush 6 rotates with the cylinder 1, and may carry a driving gear 13 for the cylinder 1. The sleeve 4 may be moved by a fluid pressure cylinder 10, acting against the resistance of springs 11 and contained within the bush 6.
