Abstract
710,686. Rotary printing-machines. FABER & SCHLEICHER AKT.-GES. May 7, 1952 [May 9, 1951], No. 11570/52. Class 100 (2) Cylinder adjustments for register.-The printing cylinder of a printing machine is adapted for ready adjustment of register in an axial direction by a hand wheel 22 arranged to displace the cylinder axially in its bearings and in the circumferential direction by a hand wheel 11 adapted to displace a skew driving gear 5 axially of the cylinder, this gear meshing with a complementary wheel 15 mounted on the shaft 13 of the impression cylinder 14. The hand wheel 22 is mounted on a screwed spindle 20 attached at its other end to a cage 18 receiving a ball-bearing carried on the end of a reduced extension 16 of the cylinder shaft. The skewed gear 5 is slidably but not rotatably mounted on the cylinder shaft by a cross pin 4 received in a longitudinal s'ot 3 and attached to a rod 6 slidable in an axial bore in the cylinder shaft. The rod 6 carries a ball-bearing 7 received in a cage 8 attached to a screwed spindle 10 on which the handle 11 is mounted. The screwed spindles 10, 20 are locked by wing nuts 12, 21.
