Abstract

572,120. Printing-machines. PEACE, H.E. Feb. 24, 1944, No. 3492. [Class 100 (ii)] A machine for printing on tubes or cylinders is formed of a bed 10 on which an inked impression or type is arranged, and the tubes or cylinders are mounted in a carriage 11 which is formed with sides slotted to receive rollers 16 upon which tubes 17 are mounted, or with means tor the mounting of solid cylinders. The carriage 11 is given a longitudinal movement not greater than the circumference of the tubes by means of a pressure pad 22 operated by power or by means of a hand knob 23. The pad is formed with a felt or rubber surface 24 by means of which pressure is applied to the tubes, causing them to rotate as they pass over the inked surface. The bed is fitted with a removable table 18 which is secured accurately in position by the aid of a pressure plate 20 adjustable by means of a screw 21, and the inked surface 10 is secured to the table.
