The whole or part of the circumferential surface of the blanket cylinder of the webfed printing machine of the parent Specification is covered by a sheet of natural or artificial rubber or other elastomeric material which is secured thereto by adhesive. The sheet may be applied directly to the surface of the cylinder or it may be adhered to an intermediate metal sleeve of, for example, aluminium, which is fixed to the cylinder by the readily releasable means described in the parent Specification. The impression cylinder of the machine may be similarly covered.
