1286084 Printing processes; invisible inks MEREDITH CORP 29 Sept 1969 [27 Sept 1968] 47834/69 Heading B6C In a method of printing, a conventional visible ink is printed on a moving web 10 by an offset unit 12, 18, 20 and whilst the ink is still wet a low viscosity invisible ink is printed over the visible ink such that the latter wet traps over the forme 5. The invisible ink is applied by an offset unit 30, 32 and 34, has substantially zero tack and is preferably a butyl cellosolve base ink. The impression cylinder 34 of the offset invisible ink unit may set as a second blanket cylinder in order to operate the unit as a perfecting machine. The inking rollers of this latter unit may be covered with material having a Shore hardness of 44 to 45.
