Abstract

1,214,422. Printing apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. 19 March, 1969 [20 April, 1968], No. 14496/69. Heading B6C. [Also in Division F2] The plate cylinder, blanket cylinder and impression cylinder of a rotary offset printing machine are driven respectively by gears 4, 5 and 6, play between which is minimized by springs 18, 18<SP>1</SP> and auxiliary gears 16, 17. The gear 16 meshes with gear 4, and is connected to gear 5 by spring 18, which extends between an abutment in gear 16 and bolt 19, which is fast with gear 5. Similarly gear 17 meshes with gear 6 and is connected to gear 5 by spring 18' and bolt 29. Alternatively the springs 18 and 18<SP>1</SP> may both be connected to bolt 19, and the gears 16, 17 may both be located on the same side of gear 5.
