Abstract

476,870. Conduits. POWER CENTRE CO., Ltd., and STEVENS, A. H. June 12, 1936, No. 16397. [Class 36] A conduit comprises sheet-metal troughs 5, each trough having an enlarged end portion 10 forming a socket into which the end 11 of an adjacent trough fits. The two ends are secured together by a bolt 15. The conduit is closed by flanged cover-plates 6, each plate having an enlarged end portion to receive the end of an adjacent plate. The plates are secured to the conduit by screws passing through holes 7 in the plates and taking into tapped holes 8 in bridge pieces 9 which are secured to the troughs. The joints between adjacent plates are preferably staggered relatively to the joints between adjacent troughs. The enlarged portion of each trough may be formed by pressing out the metal of the trough or by attaching to the end of the trough a short section of a larger trough. Each trough may be provided with an earthing strip 81, adjacent strips being bonded by the bolts 15. Fig. 4 shows an elbow 21 connecting two troughs, the elbow have one enlarged end 25 to receive the normal end 11 of the trough 24, and a normal end 23 over which the enlarged end 10 of the trough 22 engages.
