Abstract

557,654. Transformers. ROBERTS, E. H. Oct. 10, 1942, No. 14237. [Class 38 (ii)] The secondary of a heavy current transformer is built up from two or more castings 1 having grooves 3 cut in their meeting faces to accommodate a cooling pipe the inlet and outlet branches 5, 6 of which pass through holes 7, 8 in the lower casting. Connecting lugs 2 are formed integrally with the castings. The primary 10 is applied in the form of strip with interleaved insulation radially projecting tapping strips being provided at intervals.
