Abstract

551,352. Earth-continuity couplings. CALLENDER'S CABLE & CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and BRYCE, S. J. Nov. 7, 1941, No. 14350. [Class 38 (i)] In a wiring-system employing metallic conduit 13 screwed into insulating junction boxes 14 and other fittings, electrical continuity between the lengths of conduit is effected by a metal strip 2 extending across the under surface of the box and having upturned ends 3 suitable for clamping between the wall of the box and nuts 16 on the conduit. The ends 3 may be formed with holes or with U-shaped slots to receive the conduit. A single strip is used for boxes having only two opposite conduits, and a branch or cross strip may be riveted or welded thereto for boxes with three or four conduits. Embossed areas 12 stiffen the strip and space the box from its support.
