Abstract

554,255. Junction boxes. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., and CROWE, C., (Representative of CROWE, W. A. T.). Jan. 16, 1942, No. 696. [Class 38 (i)] Contacts 9, 10 connected respectively to the cable fittings 5 and busbars 6 in an underground junction box 1 are carried on insulators 7, 8 mounted on a plate or plates 11 attached firmly to the walls of the box to dissipate heat. The plate 11 is attached by screws 16 to ledges 14 on the wall of the box. Flanges 13 stiffen the plate and afford means of attaching insulating plates 23 which support the cable sockets 18. For alternating currents the plate is of non-ferrous metal, such as brass, but for direct-currents steel may be used.
