Abstract

569,165. Two-part couplings; junction boxes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and RICHARDS, S. W. July 14, 1943, No. 11432., [Class 38 (i)] A connection box having a hollow body 1 into which cables pass through several conduitconnection nipples 2 contains insulated terminals 4 by which the cables can be interconnected, at least two of the terminals carrying contacts 5 for engagement by detachable contacts 11 of an adapter 12 associated with a cover 15 having a boss 19 fitting into the box, and an external boss 16 through which pass branch leads from the contacts 11 to a pendant &c. secured to the boss 16. The adapter 12 has locating pins 7 that enter insulating guides 8 on the body 1 and a boss 13 fitting a recess 14 in the cover 15. The box and cover are of metal and are held together by screws 22. The adapter 12 and a support 3 for the terminals 4 are of insulation.
