Abstract
583,690. Junction and test boxes ; two-part couplings. ANDERSON, A., and ANDERSON, BOYES, & CO., Ltd. Nov. 17,1944, No. 22845. [Class 38 (i) ] A cable junction box component 10 adapted to be attached by bolts to an associated junction box component, switchgear, or other housing, has spring-loaded terminals 11 mounted on an insulating member 12 and adapted to detachably engage contacts 11 in the associated component 10 through the medium of fixed contacts 13 loosely mounted at 22, 23 in an insulating member 14. The terminals 11 may alternatively abut directly, or the contacts 13 may be mounted on a plate sandwiched between the half-boxes 10, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). A three or four-way junction box provided with fixed terminals 13 may be interposed between the half-boxes 10, Fig. 4 (not shown), The respective ends of the contacts 11, 13 may be convex and concave ; convex and plane, both plane, or pimpled and plane, and in addition may be silver-faced.
