Abstract

588,980. Two-part couplings. O'BRIEN, J. F. Dec. 29, 1944, No. 26073. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1943. [Class 38 (i)] An adapter suitable for a wiring system such as is described in Specification 559,266, comprises a hollow orificed housing 10, having male and female extensions 15, 16 and an outlet fixture 14 connected by lugs 24a, 25a, 26a to conductors 21, 22, 23 on a block 12 which is supported by a closure plate 11, the whole assembly being held together by screws. The fixture 14 may be a socket with terminals 34, 35 to contact the lugs. The conductors 21, 22, 23, are formed with sockets at one end and with pins at the other, and flattened intermediate their ends and secured on the face of the block 12 opposite to the lugs by rivets, which also engage the lugs. The closure plate 11 is provided with walls 27, 28, and 29, 30 to define channels for the conductors 21, 22, 23. Spacer walls 20a, 20b are provided on the block 12 to provide seatings for the fixture 14.
