Abstract

543,670. Junction boxes. VERMEER, G. M. Feb. 13, 1940, No. 2713. Convention date, March 11, 1939. (Class 38 (i)] A branching device 8 such as that described in Specification 528,357, having screws 16 for making contact with the insulated conductors of a cable passing through the centre of the device which are thus connected to conductors 12 of a branch cable 7, is formed in two parts 9, 9a clamped together round the main cable and having projections 20, 21 extending to the inner wall of the box 1, 2 enclosing the device and engaging by means of ridges 23, 24 with an annular groove 19 to locate the device in the box. Where the groove 19 passes across the filling opening 25 it is continued by bridges so that the device can be mounted in any angular position in the box. The filling opening is elongated to leave spaces at each side of the bridges 22 for inserting the filling compound.
