[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A conduit of elliptical section is secured to a junction box, switch case, &c. by engagement of the end of the conduit with seating surfaces on the box, pointed screws carried in such surfaces engaging the conduit at or near the ends of the major axis of the ellipse. The seating surfaces may be formed in projections a<SP>1</SP> on the box a that surround or partially surround the conduit b, the screws d acting tangentially or normally to grip the conduit and pierce the enamel. Various forms of seating surfaces are described and the conduit may run obliquely to or backwardly from the box.
