Abstract

370,224. Plug couplings. REID, L. H., 32, Victoria, Street, London. May 9, 1931, No. 13771. [Class 38 (i).] A socket connected for electrical wires is constructed from a single piece of metal having four parallel tongues A .. D connected by a web rolled to form a ring one tongue B being, longer than the others and formed with slots F, G at its edges, B, D being both bowed outwardly whilst tongues A, C are arched inwardly. A cap H, with a hole H<1> for the cable, fits over the socket, which grips against the cap the wire J<1> of the cable J threaded through the slots F, G, whilst the corners A<1>, C<1> also engage the cap. The plug K is preferably protected by an insulating sleeve L, gripped between the flange M and nut O moving on the screw N. A wire my be connected to the plug K by a slot Q in the end of the screw, a nut R securing the wire.
