Abstract

435,020. Sleeve couplings. JASPER, C. H., 36A, Schoonebergerweg, Rotterdam, Holland. April 25, 1935, No. 12472. Convention date, June 20, 1934. [Class 38 (i)] A coupling device of the kind comprising a coned, internally threaded sleeve that screws on to the ends of two or more wires laid side by side and preferably twisted together, has the sleeve 3 made resilient by forming in its wall one or more longitudinal folds 4. The sleeve may be made from a cylindrical tube, which is pleated or folded, the folds being larger at one end and gradually diminishing in width so as to taper the bore of the sleeve. A steep screw-thread formed, for example, by outwardly turned flange sections 6 may be provided for securing the sleeve within an insulating cap 7.
