[Class 38 (i)] In a wiring system in which unit lengths of moulded housing enclose bare conductors having means at their ends for making connection to adjacent units, the conductors 20 are spaced from the base 17 of the housing by transverse supporting partitions 18 of graduated height so that one end of each conductor is positioned so that it will overlap the opposite end of the conductor in the adjacent unit. At one end a male projection 21 bears on its surface the projecting ends of the conductors 20 which lie close to the base 17. At the opposite end a socket 22 formed to receive the projection 21 is separated by a wall 29 from a compartment 22a in which the ends of the conductors 20 are spaced from the base 17. Clamping plates 30, 31 are formed to receive the overlapped ends of the conductors 20 and secure them together. The base 25 of the socket 22 and compartment 22a is integral with the cover 23 of the moulding. A separate cover 26 gives access to the coupling and a screw passing through the cover 26, projection 21 and base 25 enters a nut sunk into the base or may extend into the wall to secure the housing thereto. A unit provided with wall-socket outlets suitable for use with the present system comprises a housing 11, Fig. 11, having a male projection 51 and socket 53. It encloses angle strip conductors 44 carrying the socket contacts 45 and clamping plates 46 at each end, those at one end holding short conductors 52 associated with the projection 51 and those at the other end receiving the projecting ends of the conductors 20 of an adjacent unit.
